Cigarette smoking

Cigarette smoking is not only associated with lung cancer, but recent research shows that it can damage arteries and veins and has an association with coronary artery disease. Smoking has been associated with high blood pressure and also with lowering the HDL or “good” cholesterol.  Smoking cessation has shown to significantly benefit both general health and in reduction of the risk for coronary artery disease.
